Ekphractic Poem

The Old Man
By Leonardo Da Vinci

The Father of Time
Old.
So old color fades into dirt,
So old the picture grows faint, and sand stains rittles the storey.
The Father of Time.

Who lived an eternity,
Who has seen all,
All of earth's failures, and all of earth's tragedy
He is sad.

His wrinkles tell tales,
And he remembers
Everything that has passed, and everything that will eventually come
He frowns.

Not a frown of discuss,
But a frown that speaks volumes
Of regret, lose, disaster, but also one of fond memories now past
A frown of Love

Love that was wasted,
Wasted on selfishness
Kicked in the ass, and thrown out on the curb side
Love that is gone.
